About Us

Mayflower Brewery is local, family business, owned and operated by husband and wife team, Alan and Tracy Branagan.  We've just relocated to Wellcross Farm in Upholland and the started brewing again in June 2010.  After adding a third fermenting vessel, we're operating at full capacity to meet the demand.

For those who don't know us, we're a 2.5 barrel plant and our beers are hand-made on a rotating cycle, using only the finest ingredients (Maris Otter malts, whole hops - no pellets or oils) and containing no artificial ingredients.

Al is responsible for everything to do with our beer - selecting the best ingredients, creating new recipes, brewing all the beers by hand and choosing high quality outlets to supply our products.  Tracy looks after all the paperwork and marketing including this website.

Getting the equipment ready in it's new home

Wellcross Farm (Mayflower's new home) is owned by Daryl Arrowsmith and Amanda Roue who are well known to local real ale enthusiasts as the licencees  of The Turks Head in St Helens, a renowned free house which has won numerous local and regional camra awards as well as being runner up in the 2007 National pub of the year.  The Turks will become the brewery tap for Mayflower ales including a new house beer, the recipe for which will be devised along with an enthusiastic Daryl!
